Dear Focusing friends, I have already mentioned in our main discussion list the existence of a conversation between Gene Gendlin,  Ann Weiser and myself, on a subject  for which I feel very much, namely the addition of a "seventh step" to Focusing - something that I already announced in a  post on this blog of June. The following is the transcript of the relevant passages of the conversation, which took place on 1st October 2015, during a Master Conference of the series with Ann and Gene. “ Spero che nella vostra vita non facciate solamente Focusing … c'è una tendenza che deriva dal Focusing che non mi piace affatto … è di approdare là dove uno si sente meglio e poi dire “ecco ora sto proprio bene”. E c'è una tendenza a non agire, a non fare quella telefonata, a non confrontarsi con quella persona...ecc. ecc. Perché tanto ora va tutto bene. Ma invece non è che vada così bene. Da anni sto cercando come potremmo arrivare a 7 passi, aggiungendo il passo dell'azione . (Un processo di Focusing) ... dovrebbe funzionare in modo che ci si diriga direttamente verso l'azione dopo che si è diventati liberi di farla... E naturalmente qui c'è da fare una piccola aggiunta.
